Dr. Mauricio Fonseca Diaz

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon | Specialist in Complex Dental Implants & Facial Deformities

Dr. Fonseca completed his dental degree at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica in 2006 and subsequently practiced privately in San José. In 2010, he began a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina in Buenos Aires, earning his postgraduate degree in 2014. He completed an additional year of specialized training under Dr. Alfonso Venturelli, MD, DDS, OMFS, before returning to Costa Rica in 2015. Since then, he has focused exclusively on private practice, including complex dental implants, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and facial deformities.

Dr. Fonseca expanded his international training with a fellowship at LMU Munich, Germany in 2017 and completed a facial aesthetic surgery program at the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ACOMS) between 2020–2023.

Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with his three dogs, beach outings, hiking, and travel.
